Planning Your Disneyland Paris Halloween Visit
Before discussing Halloween at Disneyland Paris in more detail, please read our Disneyland Paris packages with park tickets Holiday Planning Guide. It will help you plan your trip no matter the time of year. Regarding Halloween, Disneyland Paris is like the Magic Kingdom or Disneyland in California, but with some scary changes.
The main change is that there won’t be a big event before Halloween. Last year, the main event of Disneyland Paris’s 30th anniversary celebration didn’t end until September 30, which made Halloween come later than planned. Now that that is over, we think Halloween will begin sometime between the middle and end of September 2024. We might be wrong, though, and there might be another party instead.
Best Times to Visit Disneyland Paris During Halloween
There are different kinds of crowds at Disneyland Paris during Halloween. In October 2024, the best times to visit are on the weekends and during French school breaks. It’s also busier near Halloween than in the middle of the month. DLP fans also like to go on the first weekend.
Autumn is a good time to visit France and Paris because it’s not crowded. Generally, the holiday season runs from May to September, with the busiest months being June through August. October is in the middle of the off-season, coming after summer and before Christmas. This is a great time to go if you plan to spend some time outside the parks. It’s also a mild weather day.
How to get to Disneyland Paris?
Disneyland Paris is the sole Disney attraction in Europe. It is officially ranked as the most popular tourist spot in…
Halloween Decorations and Atmosphere at Disneyland Paris
When it comes to Disneyland Paris’s Halloween decorations, visitors will see familiar Halloween decorations all over the park as soon as they arrive. There are smiling pumpkins, wreaths with lights, lanterns, friendly ghosts, and happy skeletons up to 3 meters tall!
It will be Halloween-themed all over Disneyland Paris, even the hotels. For the first time, they will be decorated for autumn. Seeing how the DLP team does this will be interesting because the resorts’ Christmas preparations are beautiful.
Meet the Disney Villains and Character Experiences
Returning to the parks, Maleficent, Captain Hook, the Queen of Hearts, Cruella de Vil, and other naughty characters will live in Disneyland Paris. These bad guys are already getting ready for the holiday season, which will put them in the spotlight when they do character meet-and-greets all over Disneyland Paris.
The Royal Castle Stage, which seems like an odd name for Halloween since it’s usually home to queens, will become the Disney Villains’ regular haunt for the holiday. This is where they will get attention for themselves. After going on stage, the bad guys will meet those who love them.
Mickey’s Halloween Celebration
Mickey’s Halloween Celebration is back and better than ever this year. The travellers in this foot-stomping parade are dressed in their scariest Halloween outfits. Mickey’s Halloween Celebration feels like fall, which is a great way to welcome it.
During the parade, Mickey Mouse enjoys surprising travellers with his amazing “Mickey’s Illusion Manor” float, which has some fun, scary parts! You can see Mickey’s Halloween Celebration several times a day at Disneyland Paris. As was already said, this is not a full-on parade; it is just a cavalcade with a few floats and entertainers.
Nightfall with Disney Villains and Evening Entertainment
At nightfall during Halloween at Disneyland Paris, villains will have a spooktacular treat in store: Nightfall with Disney Villains. This is like a pre-preshow because it happens before Disney D-Light, the pre-show with a drone show. Here comes Disney Dreams, the full evening show on the castle, after the villainous pre-preshow and the drone pre-show.
During Nightfall with Disney Villains, sneaky characters escape hiding and temporarily take over Sleeping Beauty’s Castle to carry out their evil plan. This happens during a projection and dancing water show.
These Halloween-themed attractions offer more shows and activities than Disneyland Paris. The daily Disney Stars on Parade (full form, not a cavalcade) is part of this.
Halloween Attractions and Rides at Disneyland Paris
Another attraction is the Gardens of Wonder. It has 30 works of art showing figures like Maleficent, Ursula, and Jafar. The Gardens of Wonder were one of many things made for Disneyland Paris’s 30th anniversary party. They are set up right outside of Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Disneyland Paris promotes some of its rides as part of its Halloween marketing, but none of them are specially made for the holiday. Phantom Manor doesn’t get a Nightmare Before Christmas cover like the other Haunted Mansion rides, and none of the other rides at Disneyland Paris are changed.
That being said, each park has some attractions that are generally good for Halloween. There are rides at Disneyland Paris for travellers of all ages. Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains, Alice’s Curious Labyrinth, and La Tanière du Dragon are some scary things kids can do.
Then there’s the Phantom Manor, which invites travellers to visit its wild property. The ghosts of this abandoned house are too busy dancing and eating to pay attention to their guests in the dining room. Get together at the spirit ball to celebrate the holiday all year long.
When you’re done, take a quick trip to Walt Disney Studios Park to ride the famous Twilight Zone Tower of Terror with family, friends, and enemies on an exciting journey. This exciting ride takes travellers to a different world with its new scary plot, impressive 13-story drop, darkened rooms, and scary ghosts.
Halloween Shopping and Special Treats
Shops all over Disneyland Paris will also be decorated for Halloween with a wide range of unique items related to Mickey & Friends, Disney Villains, and Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
Disneyland Paris will also have new treats for Halloween, such as the Wicked Whip, a surprise cone, the amazing Maleficent Sundae at the Lucky Nugget, a “Mickey Mummy” lollipop, and many more! On some bar and restaurant lists, scary drinks like the Little Devil Cocktail, the Poisoned ‘Apple’ and the Oogie Boogie mocktail will also be available.
Disney Halloween Party 2024
Disney Halloween Party is an event at Disneyland Paris that requires a hard ticket. It’s a fancy way to enjoy the Halloween season. During this event, you can enjoy entry to attractions, a special parade, wildly entertaining fun, and a lot more.
Please keep in mind that last year’s Disney Halloween Party did not happen. Disney said about it: “This year, Disneyland Paris will offer an enhanced guest experience on October 31, which is Halloween. This includes extended opening hours and special moments rather than separate ticketed events.”
Still, here is information about the Party, just in case they return for Halloween 2024…
Admission to the Disney Halloween Parties is NOT included with a Park Ticket or a Hotel+Tickets package. Tickets must be bought individually. There will be two Halloween parties so more travellers can enjoy the attractions open until 2 a.m., like Phantom Manor, Big Thunder Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Disney Villains will also plan a special cavalcade and entertainment.
During Disney Halloween Parties, some parts of Disneyland Paris will have creepy creatures, like strange zombies in the caves and crypts of Adventureland and spooky encounters in Frontierland. When the clock strikes midnight, even the bravest guests will have scary experiences on Main Street, U.S.A., because ghosts will take over the area.
Guests will also find new shows made just for Disney Halloween parties. In addition, the Halloween cavalcade will be running at both events. Disney Villains will hang out in different parts of the park and talk to the strongest guests.
Final Thoughts on Disneyland Paris Halloween 2024
These events at Disneyland Paris have been different each year, but Disney Halloween Parties are the best for travellers who want to be in a very scary environment. It’s a fun and scary change from Halloween at Disneyland Paris, where it’s usually not too scary, but the main attractions aren’t better or different. If you’re happy with how Halloween usually is at Disneyland Paris, don’t go. Instead, go because of the vibe and the artists who set the mood.
In the end, Disneyland Paris’s normal Halloween event is a good one. Even though we like Christmas better (it starts less than a week after Halloween!), they are both great holiday events.
Besides, travellers may be easier to deal with; the weather is much better than in the summer. To sum up, autumn is a great time to visit Disneyland Paris. There are many good reasons for this, and Halloween is just one of them. Autumn is a great time to visit France, so if you’re from outside DLP, make sure you see more than just the parks.
